Crandall ISD Board Brings Innovative Ideas Back from Visioning Conference 2026

Crandall ISD is incredibly proud and honored by the dedication of our Board of Trustees, who graciously volunteer their time to serve our school district. Recently, our board members and superintendent spent the weekend together attending the highly exclusive Visioning Conference 2026.

Held from February 20-22 in Austin, Texas, the event provided an opportunity for our leaders to learn and grow as a governance team. The core focus of the weekend was "Creating a Better Future Through an Innovative Mindset".

Throughout the conference, our board members and superintendent took away valuable, forward-thinking insights from renowned educational experts to help guide Crandall ISD's future. The team explored strategies for innovative teaching, learning, and leadership with George Couros, an experienced educator, consultant, and author. Retired superintendent Dr. Ralph Draper challenged the group to deeply consider their roles and collaborative power during his impactful session, "Why Am I On the Team?". The weekend also provided dedicated time for deep reflection and board discussion, with these crucial conversations guided by Dr. Bob Thompson, Director of the Thompson Executive Leadership Institute, alongside Dr. Greg Smith. Demonstrating a true commitment to excellence, our superintendent and all board members were present for every session, allowing the team to successfully complete twelve hours of school board training, which includes their required team building credit.

We are deeply grateful for their continuous commitment to learning. Their willingness to dedicate their weekend to this training is a testament to their selfless volunteer service to the students, staff, and community of Crandall ISD.
